Verify your business on Meta
What business verification is, what changes once you have it, how it's done, and where the WhatsApp payment method is added.
They're two separate procedures, and both are done on Meta, not in Trama. Trama shows you what state each one is in, in Channels, in the Status column of each WhatsApp number.
| What it enables | If it's missing | |
|---|---|---|
| Payment method | The number being able to write first to a customer | The number can't start conversations |
| Business verification | Messaging more new people per day | Your daily limit stays where it is |
Replying to someone who wrote to you doesn't depend on either. If a customer writes to you, your agent and your team can answer them even if the business isn't verified. What's limited is writing first: alerts, follow-ups outside the 24-hour window and campaigns.
How to know if you already have it
Open Channels and look at the number. Verification can show like this:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Verified | Done. There's nothing to do |
| In progress | Meta is reviewing it. If it asked for more information, the limit doesn't go up until you send it |
| Unverified | You haven't started it yet |
| Rejected | It can be submitted again. It's almost always that the details don't match the business's legal name |
If the number shows “Payments” as a problem, the payment method is missing or the charge failed.
What to have ready
- Being an admin of the Meta business portfolio that owns that WhatsApp. If someone else administers it, they have to do it, or give you access.
- An official business document showing its legal name. In Argentina, the AFIP registration certificate (CUIT).
- The business details as they appear on that document: legal name, address and phone.
- A website or an email on the business's domain, which Meta uses to confirm it's you.
- A card, for the payment method.
Verifying the business
Go to Meta Business Manager
At business.facebook.com, with the account that administers the portfolio. Open Settings.
Open the Security Center
Business verification is there. Hit “Start verification”.
Enter the business details
Legal name, address, phone and website. Write them exactly as on the document: a difference in the name is the most common reason for rejection.
Upload the document
The official document showing the legal name.
Confirm it's you
Meta sends you a code by email, by phone, or asks you to verify the domain. Pick whichever you have at hand.
Meta reviews the request and lets you know by email. It usually takes a few days. In the meantime the number shows as In progress in Trama.
Meta's screens change often and vary by country. If one doesn't match this guide, look for Business verification inside the portfolio's settings: the procedure is the same.
Adding the payment method
In Meta Business Manager, go to Settings → Payments and add a card to the WhatsApp Business account. Each number bills against the WhatsApp Business account it belongs to: if you have more than one, check that all of them have a payment method.
What Meta charges per message is in WhatsApp costs.
