Tramy Pay and the Experiences plans
How Tramy collects, how the deposit works, when a commission is charged and how conversations are counted on Basic, Grow and Scale.
If you sell products with a set price, limited spots and a deposit (tours, activities, outings, nights of lodging), Tramy sells and collects them in the chat, and customers can also buy them from your Trama Link page. Tramy Pay handles the payment: the money goes into your Mercado Pago account and Trama keeps its commission in the same payment.
Basic, Grow and Scale prices are at trama.so/pricing/experiences. This page explains how payment works.
How Tramy collects
Answers from your catalog
The customer asks and Tramy replies with the product's price, date and open spots.
Holds the spots
When the customer says yes, Tramy sets the spots aside while they pay. If they don't pay in time, the spots are released on their own.
Sends the payment link
In the same chat it sends the link to pay the deposit with Mercado Pago. On a direct-sale product Tramy offers no other way to pay.
Leaves the sale in your panel
When the customer pays, the booking is confirmed and the sale shows up in Closed sales as Booked, with Deposit paid.
On your Trama Link page the same thing happens without the chat: a complete direct-sale product shows Buy, the customer picks the date and how many people are going, sees the total and the deposit, and pays.
Connecting Mercado Pago
The plan needs your Mercado Pago account connected, because that is where the money from each sale goes. You do it when you sign up, in the Connect Mercado Pago task of the setup. Without a connected account, Tramy cannot send payment links.
For now Tramy Pay charges in Argentine pesos, with Mercado Pago accounts from Argentina.
The deposit
Every direct-sale product has its deposit, which you set as a percentage of the price (or the full amount, if it is paid at once). The deposit is what the customer pays to book; you collect the balance however you like.
The deposit has a minimum that depends on your plan, because Trama's commission comes whole out of it. If yours is too low, the catalog tells you when you add the product and does not publish it until you raise it.
The commission
Trama charges a percentage only when Trama sells: Tramy in the chat, or the customer from your Trama Link page.
| Plan | Commission |
|---|---|
| Basic | 5% |
| Grow | 4% |
| Scale | 3% |
The commission is calculated on the sale's total and comes whole out of the deposit, in the same payment. For example, on Basic: a US$1,000 outing with a US$100 deposit. 5% of the total is US$50, which goes to Trama, and the other US$50 of the deposit goes to you. The balance pays no commission, whether you collect it through Trama or on your own.
What you or your team sell on your own pays 0%, even if you send your own payment link. Add that sale in Reservations so your spots stay up to date.
Conversations
Instead of opportunities, every plan includes a number of conversations per month. A conversation is a 24-hour window that starts with Tramy's first reply to a customer, the same way Meta counts them: everything said in those 24 hours counts as one. What your team answers does not open a window.
Extra conversations work as a floor. Each month you pay the higher of the month's commission and the extra conversations, never both, and they are billed at month end.
| On Basic, a month with… | You pay |
|---|---|
| 800 conversations (500 extra, US$100) and US$10,000 sold by Trama (US$500 commission) | The plan and the commission. The commission already covers the extra conversations |
| 2,000 conversations (1,700 extra, US$340) and US$200 sold by Trama (US$10 commission) | The plan, the US$10 commission and US$330 of conversations |
The spending cap
So an unusual month does not surprise you, the conversation spending cap comes on by default, equal to your plan's monthly price. You change it in Settings › Billing.
- At 80% of the cap you get a notice in the bell and by email.
- When you reach it, Tramy stops taking new conversations and hands them to your team until the next month starts or you raise the cap. Conversations already open finish normally. The owner also gets a WhatsApp.
- If a higher plan would have cost you less that month, the notice tells you, with the numbers.
Yearly plan
All three plans have a yearly option with two months free. Included conversations and the spending cap are still monthly, and extra conversations are billed at the end of each month. The Basic intro offer is for the monthly plan only.
At the end of each month Trama also works out what you would have paid on the higher plans, and lets you know if moving up would have paid off. See Plans and usage.
What is not included
The Experiences plans are built to sell products with a set price. They have no quote builder, quotes, visible opportunities, quote-based products, wholesalers or Radar.
If you build custom trips, or sell both ways, the agency plans are the ones for you: quoted trips are billed per opportunity, and set-price products Tramy sells pay the same percentage and use no opportunity quota. See Plans and usage.
If you refund a deposit
We have not published yet what happens to Trama's commission when you refund a deposit or a sale collected through Tramy Pay is cancelled. Before refunding one, write to support.
Every direct-sale product carries its cancellation policy: it is one of the things it needs before it can be published.
